The Spanish island Mallorca can be magical, especially in May-June and September. The main city on the island is Palma. The name Palma dates back to the Roman settlement on the site of the present city, although the area was originally settled during the Bronze Age.
This is my recommendation for the top 10 things to do in Palma de Mallorca.
- Stay at the lovely Hotel Tres in Palma, Mallorca. Relax in the top roof pool area after a day on the beach, shopping or walking. The Puro hotel is also nice.
- Rent a car and go for a trip to Valldemosa the beautiful village in the mountain, the artists village Deia, fashionable Puerto de Soller by the coast.
- Go with the train in Soller. Enjoy the lovely views of the landscape.
- Shopping Pearls is a must. Shop in one of the nice pearl shops in Palma or visit the factory shop in Manacor, about 30 minutes drive from Palma.
- Eat at the romantic restaurant Paradiso with a gorgeous view of the sea.
- Shop the softest handmade handbags ever at the small private owned shop L`ofre, address Paseo del Borne 28 in Palma.Phone: 971 72 36 65
- More shopping at Corte Ingles Shopping Centre, Zara and so on. There are lots of shops in Palma. The shopping area in Palma is quite narrow and easy to walk around. Start of in the old town by the cathedral and continue to the streets Palma Avinguda Jaume III and Passeig des Born.
- Visit the impressive Cathedral Le Seu in Palma. The famous artist Gaudi created the chandelier in the Royal Chapel.
- Eat the Spanish speciality tapas at Spanish restaurant La Paloma in Palma.
- Last but not least. Go to the beach, sun bath, swim, walk and enjoy your holiday!
Hi! thanks for the follow on Twitter. Have followed you back. Great tips on Palma. On our last trip there we went to the Waterpark which was packed and really good fun! So a good tip for people that love that, or have kids (or just kids at heart!). My blog is http://www.tipsfortravellers.com Gary
